SAN FRANCISCO, CA – 10 July 2012 – The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) announced its new board of officers for the 2012–2013 international executive board (IEB) and the IABC Research Foundation at the association’s annual general meeting in Chicago on 26 June. Serving as chair for the current 12-month term will be Kerby Meyers, while Robin McCasland joined the board as vice chair.
Having consulted IABC’s strategic plan and considered the marketplace challenges, Meyers said that he believes that IABC needs to take a comprehensive look at its business during his time as the organization's chair.
“With a number of initiatives focused on IABC's content and career offerings underway, it only makes sense to ensure that the organization's underpinnings are examined and the international executive board confirms that IABC is delivering value to its members,” he said.
While serving as chair, Meyers will continue to operate The Communications Refinery, Inc., a Denver-based consultancy specializing in corporate messaging. Previously, he has served in numerous leadership roles with IABC Colorado, including a stint as chapter president in 2007-08. He holds a Bachelor of Science in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
